Members of this Snyder line, are decendants of Daniel Snyder and his wife Catherine, that came to the US from Germany, around 1753. Their children, included Casper Snyder, married to Anna Maria Frye. Casper was in the ARW and died in 1798.
Casper and Anna had a son, Leonard P Snyder, husband of Rebecca Charlton.
Leonard P Snyder and Rebecca Charlton had sons: John T Snyder and William B Snyder, amoung others.
Jesse was one of 3 known sons born to John T Snyder and his wife-Susan M. Edelen. Both parents are buried in this cemtery. Jesse was a grandson of Leonard P. Snyder and Rebecca Charlton. Jesse was never known to have married.
Educated in Public Schools, and became an Attorney.

Jesse was a lawyer who practiced in the Hagerstown area. And came from a family line of high standings in Washington county. Per the writeup, Jesse was the youngest of 5 children. And although much of Jesse's education was in public schools, he did obtain some education, with a private tutor. He is said to have been student in "Franklin and Marshall College" of Lancaster PA in 1891. And had legal studies at one time, under the supervision of a Gen. H Kyd Douglas. Jesse was admitted to the bar in Washington county, Maryland on Dec 24 1892. Jesse is said to have also been a director in the "Hagerstown Steam Engine and Machine Company" and in the "Second National Bank". The writeup also mentions that Jesse was a member of the firm "J.T. Snyder and son" of Clearspring. Jesse is said to have been very active in Politics, and was a Democratic chairman for 4 years.
