OBITUARY
Milton Pettit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pettit, died March 30, 1921, at his home in El Reno, Okla., after a short illness of three weeks. He was burled In the El Reno cemetery April 1, after a most beautiful and tender service held in the Methodlsi church by the pastor, Rev. J. B. Magee. A great number of friends and neighbors who loved and deeply mourned the early loss of the little boy were gathered together for this last service, rendered most Impressive by the quantities of lovely flowers, beautiful music and tender sympathetic words of the pastor.

Milton was born at Guide Rock, Neb., May 6, 1906. He came to Oklahoma with his parents in 1912 ano for the last two years has lived in El Reno. Milton's Sunday school teacher for seven years was Mrs. Geo. S. Hays and slio wrote to his mother afler his death as follows:
"I loved Milton very dearly as yoa know, and my heart aches with you in your great loss. I have been thinking a great deal the last few days of Milton's dear sweet face as he looked up at me in Sunday school at Mt. Zion, when I was telling my little class stories about Jesus. He used to look like a pure, sweet angel as he listened about Jesus and his face was bright with love and faith. When I think of Milton now I remember the verse 'Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.' A loving mother knows better than any one else about the heart of her little son, but we could not help but know that dear little Milton was pure In heart, so sweet, so dear, and generous and kind, so happy and loving and smiling. Oh! my tears come as I think of him and that he has left us to mourn his loss. But we are sure that he is in Heavenl that he is seeing God and serving Him there. And can't you see how his dear face will brighten with joy when he welcomes you and his father and sister and brother and friends up there when God has called us up there; He cannot come to us but we will go to him."

Milton's father and mother, sister Fay and brother Franklin survive him. They appreciate deeply all the loving assistance and comfort rendered them during the last few days of his life. They sincerely thank all who helped them and those who sent the many beautiful flowers and assisted in the last service at the funeral.
