Brewster standard., June 13, 1890 - "Aunt" Miriam Bailey died at Carmel Monday morning in the 90th yr of her age. About 3 yrs ago, she fell and dislocated her hip, and her health began to decline. She suffered several shocks, and about two weeks ago, became comatose. During her illness she had the loving and untiring care of her dtr Mrs Susan Higgins.
Mrs Bailey was on of several children born to David Birdsall and Hannah Haines. She was born in this county and married Harry Bailey who died April 13 1853.
They had 5 children, Alfred, Alanson, Charlotte widow of Gilbert Roscoe, Laura Jane wife of Elijah Knapp, and Susan widow of Volney Higgins. The 3 dtrs survive.A brother of the deceased, who is in feeble health, resides in Danbury and is the only surviving member of this family.
