Chalma V. Barnes, age 88 of Hammond passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2005.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen; three daughters: Nancy Pariso of Crown Point, Carol Richardson of Valparaiso and Joyce (James) Ayotte of Minnesota; Son: Richard (Carole) Barnes of Miller; brother, Donald (Eva) Barnes of Arizona; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home (corner of Main & Kennedy) Schererville/Highland on Friday from 2 to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 11 A.M. at the Solan-Pruzin Chapel. Rev. John Hart officiating.
Burial, Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Barney was a member of the First Christian Church of Highland Disciples of Christ, a retired supervisor from Ford Motor Co. in Chicago Heights, a Navy Veteran of WWII. A member of the Garfield Lodge #569 F. & A.M. who will hold Masonic Services on Friday at 7 P.M. He was active in woodworking and he made several violins, dulcimers and guitars.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Highland, Disciples of Christ.
