JOSEPHINE SUDDUTH

Josephine Sudduth, daughter of George and Marinda Sudduth, was born April 3, 1844, died on December 13, 1908; age 64 years, 8 months and 10 days.

She was married to Aaron Orahood on October 19, 1860. To this union three children were born, Nettie, wife of A.E. Knox; Mary, wife of Thomas Barnhart, and Ida, wife of Charles Argo.

She is survived by her husband, and her three children, twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss.

About the age of fifteen, when little with all it's possibilities lay before her, she consecrated her life to the Master and became a member of the Mill Creek church, to which she always attended whenever possible. She has lived a sincere, devoted Christian life, a life worthy of limation-beloved by her family and all who knew her.

The deceased was naturally of a quiet retiring disposition, little given to complaining, but pursuing her journey through life with a modest constancy that we may well emulate. Her illness, though brief, was painful, but she bore it with heroism and was always kind to those that attended her. She said she was prepared to go, and shortly before dying she said could hear the sweetest music. In such a death well may it be said, "O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory?"

Our hearts go out to the stricken family, and as the devoted husband goes to the home she loved to make pleasant, all seems silent and empty, for she is not there. Her place will be missed, her voice will never be heard here again. But we believe she is now with the redeemed on the shores of eternal time, and with outstretched arms beckons us to come.

(MEM)

Gone from this world and from our home:
Gone where no sickness can come.
Gone to that land of endless light.
Where they never say Goodnight.

We'll miss thee from our hearth-stone here.
We'll often feel that thou art near.
While thy spirits soars in pure delight'
Where they never say Good night.

With tearful eyes and aching heart.
We from thy earthly form must part.
But sorrows vanish and all is bright.
Where they never say Good night.

We'll meet thee, mother, in that happy land.
Where they never take the parting hand.
There with our savior robed in white.
We'll never have to say Good night.
