He was a retired landman, a Baptist, member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ozark and a former member and secretary of the Gideons. He was born July 18, 1927, in Pampa, Texas, to Calvin and Virginia Smith Walker. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Beneux.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Whitson Walker; two daughters, Ginger Powell and Cindy Warden, both of Ozark; two sons, Jim T. Walker of Tulsa, Okla., and Bill Walker of Fort Smith; a brother, Jack Walker of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark, with Rev. Coyce Couch officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Pallbearers were Don Shaffer, Maxey Helmert, Wesley Wells, San and Paul Kizer and Kenneth Warden III.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas; the Palliative Care Unit at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center, or the American Cancer Society.
