Mr. Hunter was a member of Mount Haven Baptist Church, a retired farmer and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Kathlene Tynes Hunter; two sons, Gary Hunter of Hardin and Ronnie Hunter of Mayfield; two daughters, Gwendolyn Adlich of Mayfield and Pamela Hutchens of Benton; three sisters, Louise Creason, Gearldene Haley and Francis Clapp, all of Mayfield; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. His parents were Andy and Ella Finn Hunter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Max Anderson and Michael Rule officiating. Burial will be at Hicks Cemetery.
