DIED SUDDENLY FROM WAR ILLNESS
----------------------
John B. Greeson Discovered In Unconscious Condition—Died 10 Minutes Later

Disabilities resulting from an illness contracted while in service during the late world war caused the sudden death of John B. Greeson, 26 years old, at his home, 921 Meridian street, at 4 o'clock this morning. He was discovered in an unconscious condition at 3:50 a.m. by Mrs. Greeson, and died ten minutes later before a physician could reach the bedside. Death was directly due to leakage of the heart.
Mr. Greeson suffered an attack of influenza while in service and never fully recovered from this illness, although recently he seemed to be much improved and had a bright future which was enlivened by a splendid ambition and a happy home. He and his family had spent Sunday in the country with relatives and had returned here Sunday evening. He gave no indication of being ill before retiring and was in a very happy frame of mind. Mrs. Greeson was awakened by his groans and failing to arouse him summoned a physician who arrived shortly before his death.
Mr. Greeson was born near Greenup, Illinois, October 28, 1895, at his death being 26 years, 8 months and 13 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Greeson, of Greenup, Illinois. His marriage with Miss Martha Jones, of this county, took place November 5, 1919 and shortly after the couple came to this city for their residence. Mr. Greeson was an expert auto electrician and had been connected wit the Gable Auto Electric shop since coming to this city. He was a likeable young man who had acquired many friends in the community, to whom his death is an almost unbelievable shock, and their sympathy goes out with fullness to the sorrowing family.
Surviving is the widow and one son, William Ernest Greeson, 21 months old, the parents and a number of other relatives residing in Illinois. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Shelby County.
