Ruth E. Burkhart, 89, of Brutus, passed away Dec. 8, 2009, Tender Care Nursing Home in Cheboygan.
The funeral service will be noon Monday, Dec. 14, at the Brutus Mennonite Church in Brutus. The Rev. Jim Gerber will officiate. Interment will be in Brutus Mennonite Cemetery in Brutus.
Mrs. Burkhart was born May 27, 1920, the daughter of David and Elizabeth (Brubacher) Snider in Brutus. She attended school at the Red School in Brutus.
She married the late Jonas B. Burkhart in Brutus.
She was a member of the Brutus Mennonite Church. She enjoyed house cleaning for others throughout the area for many years.
She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, Jonas Burkhart; daughter, Shirley Lashmit; three brothers, Edward, Vernon and Wilson Snider.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Brutus Mennonite Church.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon Monday, Dec. 14, at the Brutus Mennonite Church.
Arrangements were handled at the Charles G. Parks Funeral Home in Petoskey.
