James F. "Tim" Mahan Jr., 68, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Chester County Hospital.
He was the loving husband of the late Mary C. Filoromo Mahan, with whom he had shared 20 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 1988.
Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late James F. Sr. and Anne Entrekin Mahan.
He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a steelworker and crane operator for G.O. Carlson Steel.
Mr. Mahan was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Downingtown VFW Post #845, and the Steel Workers Union.
In his spare time he enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by sons, Randy Mahan and wife, Michelle, and Timothy Mahan, all of Downingtown; and by his sister, Deborah "Debbie" Mahan, also of Downingtown; and grandchildren, Randy J. and Mary C. Mahan.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown.
A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
