Giovanni Calamari was the last child born to Luigia and Giuseppe Calamari in New York City. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and a retired Lt. Colonel in the US Army Reserve. He was president of Calamari Bros. He married Pauline Zanardi. They had four children; Michael, Sylvia-Ann, Roberta and Paul Calamari. Pauline died in 1963. John married Margaret Dwyer Purcell on April 29, 1964 at St. Ann's Church in Devon, CT. John is buried in the Calamari family plot at St. Joseph's Church in Chester along with his first wife, Pauline, and his two children, Michael and Roberta Calamari Linder.
