Emmett Points Dies; Was Assessor 1925-52
William Emmett Points, 95, of
502 Lyons St., died Thursday at
Ashley Manor in Boonville. He
had been ill for several years
and a patient at Ashley Manor
since January.
A retired farmer, Mr. Points
served as Columbia city
assessor from 1925 to 1952.
Mr. Points was born in Boone
County Aug. 31, 1877, to William
A. and Nannie E. Foley Points.
He married the former Nell
Allton Dec. 28, 1902.
He is survived by his widow;
a son, Hugh E. Points of Santa
Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Mrs.
W. C. Russell of Shelbina; three
grandchildren, Tony Points,
Mrs. Sally Maune, both of
Washington, and Tim Points of
Florida and three nieces, Mrs.
Myra Joyce, Ballwin, Miss Ruth
Russell and Miss Evelyn
Russell, both of Shelbina.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m.
today at Parker's Chapel. The
Rev. Sam S. Langley of the
First Christian Church will
conduct the service. Burial will
be in Columbia Cemetery.
