John Miller (Oct. 26, 1859-March 4, 1920 –husband of Katherine Koenig [married May 29, 1883 at St. Gregory] –son of Peter Miller and Ursula Brandt –born Town of Herman, Sheboygan County –hardware dealer –until 1893 resided on a farm in Town of Meeme –about 1893 moved to St. Nazianz and was employed in the William F. Christel Hardware store –"He went into partnership and operated the Miller-Groh general merchandise store, a flour mill and then joined in conducting the Miller-Koenig Hardware
store. When Mr. Koenig retired, Mr. Miller took over the management."
–from obit. of Katherine Miller –on Aug. 25, 1894 purchased the vacant lot at 211 Church Street and had a house built –lived here until selling to Michael and Margaret Weber on April 4, 1902 –on Dec. 13, 1902 purchased the house at 103 West Birch Street from the Roman Catholic
Religious Association –John lived in this house until his death in 1920 –his widow Katherine lived here until her death in 1936 –on Feb. 26, 1903 purchased the former public school at 109 West Main Street from Pete and Elizabeth Endries and converted it into a hardware store –John worked in this hardware store until his death in 1920 –died from "carcinoma of liver")
