County Resident Dies Last Night John Hoida Sr of Coleman Stricken

Coleman - John Hoida, Sr, 75, pioneer resident of Route 1 Coleman, died unexpectedly Friday at 9 p.m. in his farm home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. The Rev. Dennis Bouche will officiate at the requim mass Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will be taken from Rhodes Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. Born Jun 12, 1872 in Bohemia, he came to this country with his parents in 1884. They settled on a farm near Coleman. On July 22, 1897 he married the former Mary Buresh in Menominee. For seven years following their marriage they lived in Menominee and then moved to a farm at Coleman where they had lived since. In July they observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Kirsh of Milwaukee; six sons, Sylvester at home, George of Coleman, Edward, John Jr, Joseph and Frank all of Two Rivers. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Edward Showers Sr, Oregon, WI, three brothers, Joseph of Luxemburg, Barney of Oconto Falls and Frank of Coleman and 20 grandchildren.
