1922 ~ 2003
Eugene (Gene) Ray Bingham, age 80, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home in Orem, July 31, 2003.
He was born Dec 20, 1922, in Spanish Fork, UT to John Henry and Hilda Bingham.
He was formerly married to Fawn Brady Bingham (deceased).
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, Orem, UT; sons, Michael (Anne), Orchard Park, NY, Robert (Debbie), Oakley, UT, Gary (Jeri), Alpine, UT, Chuck Elmer (Kerry), Hooper, UT, Greg Elmer (Barbara) West Valley City, UT; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Ervin (Colleen) Bingham; sister, Afton Bateman; and his sister-in-law, Doramae Bingham.
Gene grew up in Spanish Fork, UT and lived all of his adult life in Orem, UT.
He served his country as a B-25 bomber pilot during World War II flying 46 missions in the European theatre.
He graduated with a business degree from Brigham Young University and worked at Geneva Steel more than 25 years; and later at Clegg Realty.
Gene enjoyed spending time with his family as well as golfing, reading, traveling and caring for his cats.
He was a member of the Alpine Country Club and the B.P.O.E.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 680 E. Main St, Suite 202, Lehi, UT 84043.
Private family services will be Mon. Aug 4, 2003, 9 a.m. Sundberg Olpin Mortuary. 495 S. State St, Orem.
