She was born November 4, 1916 in Silver City, Utah, and was an eighty-nine-year resident of Nevada, having moved to Las Vegas with her family at the age of four.
Helen graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1934. She married William R. Cecil in 1942. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church, where she served in the auxiliary organizations and at the Las Vegas Temple. Helen retired from the Clark County School District.
She was preceded in death by her father; mother; husband; a grandchild; three sisters; and a brother. Helen is survived by her sons, William, Bruce and Brent; sister, Wilma Noyes; eleven grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009, with service following, both at the Sloan and Alcott LDS Church, 1707 South Sloan Lane.
Graveside Services will follow at Memory Gardens, 7251 West Lone Mountain Road.
