Resident of Shelby Township Dies;
Survived By Eight Children

Thomas Edward Hendrickson, 89 years old, died at his home in Shelby township this morning at 5:30 o'clock following an illness of several days.
The deceased was born in Shelby county the son of Jonathan and Martha (Hatton) Hendrickson on September 29, 1846. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Ellen Gibson on May 18, 1878. To this union nine children were born. Eight survive, six sons, Charles of Geneva, Harry of Colorado, Anderson of Geneva, Thomas of Greensburg, Marshall of California, and Walter of Madison; and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Mook of near this city and Mrs. Donna Hopper of Indianapolis. One son died in infancy.
Twenty-seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren survive.
He had been a farmer for the most part of his life, but at one time he practiced the profession of veterinary surgeon in this county. For many years he was a member of the Pleasant Grove Separate Baptist Church in Noble township.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Geneva M.E. Church and burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery in charge of Harry Bennett, funeral director.
