Charles John Voelker, 79, Colemen, died Wednesday at home. He was born Feb. 21, 1904, at Mishicot to the late Henry and Anna (Zahorik) Voelker. On Oct. 4, 1927, he married Elsie Hoida at Menominee, Mich.

Mr. Voelker was employed as a butcher for the formr F. X. Kammes & Co. at Coleman for 14 years. He then moved to Two Rivers where he worked as a tinsmith for the Manitowoc shipyards for two years. In 1944, he moved to Klondike where he took over the family farm and retired in 1973. He then moved to Coleman where he worked part-time for Country Gardens, Inc. until 1980.

He was a past-treasurer for the Klondike School Board, and also was past-treasurer for Levash Cheese Factory, Klondike.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Francis Catholic Church, Coleman.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Shriley Yaeger, Eau Claire; one son, Jermone; Green Bay; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin, Apopka, Fla.; Bill, Green Bay; Roy, Muskego; three sisters, Mrs. John (Anna) Hoida, Two Rivers; Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) Piorior, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Clayton (Lorraine) Wichman, Green Bay.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Lester and Henry.

Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and then at St. Francis Church after 9 a.m. Saturday. Wake service 8 p.m. Friday. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Thomas Mayefske officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
