Married Susannah Platt on Jan. 9, 1773. He was Capt. of the Militia and served in the active service for 3 mos. in the Revolution.

Daniel was born in 1744. He married Susannah Platt in Norwalk, Connecticut on January 9, 1773.

Captian Daniel Hanford lived on a farm he called "Bush Pasture" which was given to him by his father, Hezekiah Hanford on July 19, 1773, containing 6 acres more or less with a dwelling house.

He served three months in Capt. Jabez Gregory's company during the Revolutionary War; discharged on January 21, 1776. He also seved in Capt. Jabez Gregory's company of the 9th Regiment of Militia in New York.

During the Revolutionary War, he was taken prisoner by a party of Tories and British, his house in Norwalk, robbed and he himself, taken to new York and confined in the infamous Sugar House Prison.

He died on April 12, 1797 and is buried in the historic East Norwalk Cemetery.
