James Milton Rash, 85, life long resident of Richland County died Sunday morning at the home of his daughter Mrs. Walter Byrne, 1070 West Main Street.

Mr. Rash was born May 31, 1870 at Rock Castle, KY, coming to Richland County with his parents when he was one year of age and settling near Parkersburg, where he spent most of his life. His wife died 37 years ago.

He is survived by the following children; Guy Rash of Lincoln, Martin Rash of San Lorango, CA, Mrs. Hazel Newberry of Alton, Mrs. Ethel Ridgely, Carl Rash, Mrs. Myrtle Koertge, Mrs. Gladys Byrne and Mary Hendselman, all of Olney, Mrs. Martha Provines of Calhoun and Mrs. Mabel Ridgely of Parkersburg.

There are 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Morris Rash of Parkersburg is a brother and Mrs. Ophelia Hedrick of Oakland City, IN is a sister.

Funeral services held at Porter-Schaub Chapel Tuesday, with Rev. Paul Ragsdale in charge. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Parkersburg.
