G. W. WOODS PASSED AWAY LAST NIGHT

George Washington Woods passed away last night after an illness of twelve weeks at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Brooks, corner Cedar and Arch streets.

Mr. Woods was born Nov. 11, 1843 in North Missouri, and lived there until just before the civil war when he moved to this county where he has resided ever since.

He was married July 7, 1867 to Miss Margaret Jones, she passed away Jan. 16, 1878, and Dec. 4, 1892 he married Mrs. J. Killian. She died Dec. 7, 1899 and since then he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Brooks.

Mr. Woods was a man of fine character, conscientious in all his dealings with his fellowman. He was a members of the Christian church, uniting with that church under the pastorate of Dr. Levi Marshall.

Mr. Woods is survived by four daughters, one residing in California, and the other two in Iowa and Mrs. Brooks of Nevada.

The funeral was held this afternoon at the Brooks residence, Dr. Marshall officiating.
