Ashley Dean Goldman, 74, resident of 123 Cassell Circle, husband of Helen Williams Goldman, died December 4, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.

Born in Greenwood, February 8, 1935, he was a son of the late John Curtis and Flora Marie Pitts Goldman. He was a graduate of Ninety Six High School, attended Piedmont Technical College and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving on the USS Lofberg. Mr. Goldman was retired from Greenwood County and since his retirement was employed by Blyth Funeral Home.

A member of Ninety Six Church of God, he was also a member and Past Commander of VFW Post 8131, Past Commander of the American Legion Post 103 in Ninety Six, Lakelands Detachment Marine Corps League, the 40 & 8 and Past Master of Eureka Masonic Lodge 47 A.F.M.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are three daughters, Mary Ann and husband, Richard Stroup of Greenwood, Cheryl and husband, Mark Bellamy of Ninety Six and Laurie Goldman of the home; six grandchildren, Chris and wife, Marie Stroup, Richard Stroup, Mary Beth and husband, Michael Ginn, Will and wife, Sarah Stroup, Heather Goldman and Stephen Bellamy; seven great-grandchildren, Tanner Ginn, Braedon Stroup, William Stroup, Kyler Byihgton, Carson Ginn, Ava Grace Stroup and Logan Ginn; four brothers, Kenneth and wife, Juanita Goldman, Rock and wife, Mary Ann Goldman, Ted and wife, Marie Goldman, all of Ninety Six and Ned and wife, Theone Goldman of Albany, OR.
