Jas. Orsborn, an old and respected citizen of this community, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wes Dawson, in Cumberland, Sunday morning, aged about 81 years. Death was due to old age. The funeral services were held at Restitution church and interment was in the nearby cemetery.
----
Orsborn, Uriah James was born in Ohio, Feb. 22, 1838, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wesley Dawson, in Casey, Ill, April 6, 1919, aged 81 years, 1 month, and 14 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Charlotta Jennings, in Crawford county, Ill., Jan. 19, 1860, who departed this life March 21,1874. To this union were born four children, two sons, and two daughter, David W., deceased; Samuel Orsborn and Anna Dawason, of Casey, and Mrs. Lavina Harris, of Brazil, Ind.; also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and other relatives and many friends. Bro. Orsborn was united in marriage with Mrs. Romatha Snyder, Dec. 1874. She departed this life Feb. 8, 1913.

In the year of 1871 Bro. Orsborn moved to Jasper county, Ill., where he lived until 1913, when he moved to Casey, to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. Anna Dawson, until death came, who did all her power with her husband. Bro. Orsborn was converted and united with the Church of God about fifty years ago, being an elder in the church until his death. He was superintendent of the Sunday school for many years.

Bro. Orsborn was an industrious man, a kind husband and father, a good neighbor, and a useful citizen. He out lived nearly all of his generation in his community, where he lived almost 45 years. He was in poor health for many years, but was cared for by his daughter and son-in-law, Wesley Dawson. His last illness was of short duration. He told them he was ready to depart this life at any time.

The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the Restitution church April 8th, in the presence of a large congregation. We laid the body to rest in the cemetery near by, to await the resurrection morning. It was my privilege to be his former pastor many years ago. Rev. W. R. Johnson
