"Mrs. Alpha S. Amberson, 82, died in El Paso July 10. A former 46 resident of the Gila Community, Mrs. Amberson was the widow of Jack Amberson. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George Van Winkle of Meeker, Colo., Mrs. Emma Lou Harel of Anchorage, Alaska and Mrs. Sadie (Tinkie) Howell of El Paso; four sons, Walter G. Amberson of Stayton, Ore., Johnny D. Amberson of Spokane, Wash., Clarence Simpson Power, Bute, Ore. and Shereman (Buster) Simpson of Holbrook, Arizona; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Curtis-Bright Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14 with Bishop Ross MacDonald of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of El Paso officiating. Interment will follow in the Mesa Cemetery at Gila."
