In my family Thetford and Thedford was used. Mary Teresa Thedford was the daughter of Sanford Thetford. Tedford, Telford, Tilford are also found further back in history. There is a significant reason why Mary Teresa used Thedford. While this isn't a mystery, her life was. She deeply studied the occult because she felt her/my home was haunted and in the last restoration we found many documents about the paranormal. She left this home after her husband and two sons died in 1902-1904. She claimed the place was cursed and moved to her daughters home in Cleburne Texas. It is not known where she was when she died but she is buried in Walnut Grove Cemetery near the Robinson farm. Her tombstone is also a mystery. It continually vibrates and has to be reset. She was a dear mother and loved by our family.
