LeRoy Dickens

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Upper Mabel Cemetery in Marcola for LeRoy Arnold Dickens of Marcola, who died Dec. 13 of Alzheimer's disease. He was 75. Refreshments at the Marcola Community Church will follow the graveside service.

He was born June 26, 1934, in Eugene, to Robert and Elsie Clum Dickens. He married Diane Laemmle March 27, 1971, in Reno, Nev.

He graduated from Mohawk High School, and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, and in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1958 to 1963. He worked as a timber cutter.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Cynthia Stephenson of Portland, Deborah Miller of Baltimore, Angela Brown of Bend and Michelle Hansen of Springfield; two stepsons, Tony Laemmle of Bend and Brad Laemmle of Redmond; a stepdaughter, Julie Dumas of Bend; a brother, Clyde Dickens of Marcola; three sisters, Joanne Walt of Coos Bay, Judy Fillmore of Salem and Roberta Chapman of Junction City; and 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
