JAMES F. POINTER, 59, 502 Tomahawk
Blvd., died at 3:25 p.m., Sunday in Ho-
ward Community Hospital, following a
two-week illness.
Born March 29, 1914, in Toccoa, Ga.,
he was the son of William and Rena
(Crisp) Pointer. He was married June 4,
1932, to Cora Mae Roberts, who survives.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving
with both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy. He
was employed for 17 years as a pipe fitter
in Department 86 at Chrysler Corporation.
He was a member of the Fousquare Gospel
Church, Izaak Walton League of America,
National Rifle Association and United Auto
Worker, Local 685.
Surviving with the wife are four daughters,
Mrs. Carl (Joyce) Housley of Norris, Tenn.,
and Mrs Earl (Rachel) Paul, Mrs. Clifford
(Sandra) Stiner and Mrs. Brenda L. Myers,
all of Kokomo; three sons Herschel M. and
James R. Pointer, both of Kokomo, and
William M. Pointer of Norris, Tenn.; two
sisters, Mr. W. L. (Recie) Paul of Birming-
ham, Ala., and Mrs. James (Almeeta) Elrod
of Toccoa, Ga. and 17 grandchildren. Two
brothers and four sisters preceded him in
death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday
in Foursquare Gospel Church, with the Rev.
Bob Barber officiating. Burial will be in Al-
bright Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to
9 p.m. Wednesday in Ellers Mortuary.
The body will lie in state for one hour prior
to services in the church.
