Harry J. Harrison served as a Major in the United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of Olaf and Selma Harrison.

He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York in the Class of 1935.

Harry Harrison first served in the Coastal Artillery, and was assigned to a gun battery at Long Beach, California. At the outbreak of World War II, he volunteered to become a paratrooper. He was assigned to the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, which was attached to the 82nd Airborne Division, United States Army. The 508th made jumps into Normandy and Holland. The unit also fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He was killed in the fighting at Hurtgen Forest, Germany.

He was married to Catherine S. Carswell on May 23, 1939.

He is interred next to his brother, Oscar E. Harrison, in Section 3 of the Gettysburg National Cemetery.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on June 10, 1948.
