CHARLES M. COFFEY
Charles Maywood Coffey, 68, of 304 Archer St., died at 5: 15 p.m. Monday (June 19, 1989) in King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 29, 1920, in Augusta County, a son of the late Clayton M. and Ella Virginia (Waterman) Coffey.

Mr. Coffey was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in France, England, and Germany with the Office of Strategic Services.

In 1984 he retired from the Reliable Stores Corp. of Landover, Md., following 34 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ferbie (Smith) Coffey; a son Charles Wayne Coffey of Riverdale, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Coffey Burford of Staunton and Mrs. Catherine Coffey Hoover of Hyattsville, Md.; a grandson, Dennis Coffey of Riverdale, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Janet Coffey Dull, and a brother, H. Elwood Coffey.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Richard R. Anderson. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be James R. Rohr, Terry M. Rohr, Charles S. Berry, Richard 0. Baker, Charles H. Upton, and Gene R. Rush.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce A. Wade, Linwood Nickel-son, Eugene Acord, and John D. Hoover.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. this evening in the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
