Fannie Bet Thomas was the daughter of Allen Hunter Thomas and Nannie Lillian Dunn. She had at least six siblings: Nannie Lillian Thomas, Hunter Allen Thomas, Daniel D. Thomas, Bobbie M. Thomas (female) and Louise Thomas. She also had numerous half-siblings.

Fannie Bet Thomas married Oscar Jackson Dunn. They had four children: Roy Oscar Dunn, Perry Franklin Dunn, Alma Lucille Dunn and Percy Alvin Dunn.

Fannie Bet Thomas was a native of Halifax County, Virginia. She lived in Mecklenburg County, Virginia in 1920. Sometime between 1920 and 1925, Fannie Thomas, her husband, Oscar Jackson Dunn, and their children moved to Roxboro, Person County, North Carolina.

Fannie Bet Thomas died of typhoid fever on September 2, 1925.
