OBITUARY

Last rites were said for Amy Lee BELL, 91 year-old pioneer of the Panhandle community, at the First Christian Church, Saturday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Ward H. N. Gregg. Mrs. BELL passed away in the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. F. HETHCOCK, Thursday, following ill health of 16 years duration.

Pallbearers were J. C. BELL, J. D. HETHCOCK, Emmett HETHCOCK, Emory BELL, Roy BELL and Zelto OSBORN. Interment was made in the South Flat cemetery.

Amy Lee FARRAR was born July 31, 1854, to J. P. and Mary FARRAR of Spring Bluff, Franklin county, Missouri. She spent her childhood and young womanhood in the community, where at the age of 19, she was married to W. L. BELL. They later moved to eastern Oklahoma where they made their family home.

To this union was born eleven children. While raising her children Mrs. BELL became a christian and united with the Christian church of her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband and seven children. Her death occurred in the home of a daughter, Mrs. M. F. HETHCOCK of this city at the age of 91 years, three months and 29 days.

Closely related to the deceased are three sons, T. F. BELL, Euphrata, Washington, J. W. BELL, Seattle, Washington, O. C. BELL, Booker; one daughter, Mrs. M. F. HETHCOCK, together with 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren,and four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. R. FARRAR, Spring Bluff, Missouri, W. F. FARRAR of St. Charles, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews and friends.

At the time of her death, Mrs. BELL was a member of the Christian church of Booker where she had been a member since the early days of the town and church. She was loved by all who knew her.
