BLOOMFIELD NATIVE, J. M. MATTINGLY, SUCCUMBS AT 79 - JOSEPH M. MATTINGLY, 79, retired farmer of Fisherville, Route 1, died at 4:38 A.M. Tuesday, March 16, at St. Anthony Hospital, Louisville. A native of Bloomfield, he was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Verlie Thomas, Fisherville; Mrs. Margaret McClain and Mrs. Delsie Humes, Taylorsville; and Mrs. Dolly Dismang, Louisville; four sons, Hays, of Louisville; Daniel C., of Taylorsville; J. Paul, of Fisherville; and Raymond F. Mattingly, of Jeffersontown; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brinner, and Mrs. Lula Coulter; one brother, Charlie Mattingly, of Fairfield; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 P.M. today (Thursday) at Spicer, McAfee and Adam Funeral Home, Bloomfield, by the Rev. Ralph Hodge, pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. The body is at Spicer, McAfee and Adam Funeral Home, Bloomfield.
