Funeral service for Annie Ruth Atkins, 87, will be Monday, July 8, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Peebles and Rev. Travis Taylor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Atkins died on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sunday, March 7, 1926, in Morgan County to Dick Crow and Naomi (Peebles) Crow. She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Atkins, two sons: Edward Allen and Darrel Wayne Atkins and a daughter: Martha Widner Massey.
Survivors include: two Sons Eddie Atkins, Foley , AL and David Atkins, Cullman, AL; two Daughters Mary Ann Taylor, Somerville, AL and Tommie Clark, Danville, AL; 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Annie Ruth Crow was born March 7, 1926 to Naomi Jinks Peebles. Annie Ruth was raised by her great-grandmother, Mattie Edwards Crow and Leonard Crow. Annie Ruth called Mr. Crow Daddy. Mattie's bio at the time of her death stated, Mrs. Crow is survived by her husband, L. Crow; a son Robert; one daughter, Miss Annie Ruth Crow.
Annie Ruth was 9 years old when her great-grandmother died. Leonard married Ellen Elizabeth Towe, whom Annie Ruth called Aunt Dot. Their children were Eugene 'Buddy', Jay, Leonard, Bobby, and Randy.
Annie Ruth married Edward Jr. Atkins Dec. 5 1944. Their children: Martha, Mary, Edward Allen, Tommie, Darrel Wayne, Dwight David, and Eddie Lynn.
Mrs. Atkins died July 5, 2013 at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville, Morgan County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Atkins, two sons Edward Allen and Darrel Wayne, and daughter Martha Widner Massey.
