Mrs. Anna Edwards Wild, a former resident of Somerset, died at her home in Detroit, Mich., Saturday after a brief illness. She was born at Mars Hill, N.C., Sept 12, 1891, being the daughter of William and Anne Morgan Edwards and the descendant of prominent colonial families of North Carolina.

After attending Mars Hill College she taught in the North Carolina schools. She and Homer Wild of Big Pine, N.C. were married Aug. 3, 1911. Her entire life was spent in the true Christian way. She affiliated with the Baptist Church in the various communities in which she lived. Her outstanding knowledge of the Bible, her benevolent spirit and purity of life fitted her for genuine Christian service which was recognized as her outstanding characteristic.

Mr. and Mrs. Wild made their home on West Columbia Street here for 13 years, moving to Detroit in 1941. She leaves many friends here who are saddened by her passing. Funeral services were held at the Gilead Baptist Church in Detroit Monday. Her membership was in that church at the time of her passing. Tuesday afternoon funeral services here were conducted at the First Baptist Church, of which she was a former member, the Rev. W. A. Reese and Dr. Preston Ramsey officiating. Interment was in the city cemetery.

Surviving are her husband and five children, Mrs. Robert Shoopman, Jr., Somerset, Mrs. Ralph Wesley, Pineville, Mrs. Raymond Wesley, Carlisle, Ralph Wild, Detroit, Mich., Leo Wild, Lexington; one sister, Mrs. D. C. Marshburn, Clinton, N. C.; three brothers, McKinley Edwards, Bryson City, N. C., H. B. Edwards, Valdosta Ga., and S. E. Edwards, Winston-Salem, N. C.; and nine grandchildren.
