Widow of mayor
Bath, Me. Mrs. Laura Sewall Aitken, 89, widow of Arthur Sewall, a former mayor of this city, died yesterday.
She had lived in Bath since 1916 when she married Sewall. The former president of the Bath National Bank and the Bath Memorial Hospital died in 1916.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club and the Church of the New Jerusalem, both in Bath. In 1964, she married retired Royal Air Force Vice Marshal Robert S. Aitken.
She also leaves a son, William D. Sewall of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Hyde of Winchester, Va.; and a sister, Mrs. Helen Bouchelle of Palm Beach Shores, Fla.
Services will be held Monday at 2 in her home followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
