Raymond Schulzetenberg was born Sept. 5, 1920 in New Munich, to Henry Gerard and Pauline Mary (Leukam) Schulzetenberg. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School, New Munich, St. John's Preparatory School and St. John's Seminary, Collegeville. Father Schulzetenberg was ordained by Bishop Peter W. Bartholome at St. John's Abbey, Collegeville on June 30, 1946. He celebrated his First Mass on July 7, 1946 at Immaculate Conception Church in New Munich. Father Schulzetenberg served in the following pastoral assignments in the Diocese of St. Cloud; associate pastor, Sacred Heart Church, Sauk Rapids, September 1946-July 1949; pastor, St. Rita's Church, Hillman, July 1949-June 1952; pastor, St. John the Baptist Church, Bluffton, June 1952-June 1958; pastor, St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud, June 1958-July 1977; pastor, Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Gilman, July 1977-present. In addition to the above assignments, Father Schulzetenberg also served as dean of the St. Cloud Deanery from September 1969 to December 1972; dean of the Foley Deanery, 1980-1985; Diocesan Consultor, November 1969-1972; Director of Priests' Eucharistic League, 1952-present.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Edmund, Henry, Rose Meyer and Marie Laing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Martin, Othmar, Irene, and Sister Ermenilda, OSB.
