He lived briefly at Wall Lake, Early, & West Side, and most of his youth was spent near Denison and West Side, Iowa, until he entered the US Navy and spent 22 months in service. He was discharged December 1947.

He was married to Norma Kinzer on March 10, 1951, at Ida Grove, and they had a daughter, Mary Lyne, who is now 2 years old.

They lived on a farm near Ida Grove and Jack was currently emplyed by Midwest Industries.
