Mrs. Goodwin was born in Cambridge and was a graduate of Watertown High School and Salem State College. A longtime resident of Marblehead, she taught in the public school system for 30 years. She was much loved and will be missed by her family and many friends.
Mrs. Goodwin was the wife of the late Randolph E. Goodwin and mother of the late Meredith (Goodwin) Benfer.
She leaves her son, Jonathan G. Goodwin and daughter-in-law, Karen (Bickmore) Goodwin of Aldie, Va.; her son-in-law, Richard H. Benfer, of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Andrew and Katharine Benfer and Hannah and Samuel Goodwin; her mother, Charlotte H. Kutchukian of Peabody; a brother, David G. Kutchukian of East Dorset, Vt.; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held January 29 at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, Marblehead. Arrangements were under the direction of the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home of Marblehead.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Randolph E. Goodwin Scholarship Fund, c/o Carl Segal, P.O. Box 1008, Marblehead, MA 01945.
