Mavis Joy Quarnberg, age 79, died April 7, 2007 at her home in West Valley City, Utah.

Born January 21, 1928 to Benjamin Gordon Smuin and Emma Nippon Fairfax in Vernal, Utah.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Joy will be remembered for her loving service.

Joy was appropriately named because of the happiness she possessed. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Joy touched the lives of everyone she associated with and is loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joy was an accomplished artist, seeing beauty in everything. She painted landscapes on canvas and on flat rocks she found in the desert. She loved quilting, Brazilian embroidery and anything else requiring a delicate artistic touch.
