MRS. CLARENCE JOHNSON DIES SUDDENLY AT NEW HAVEN - Mrs. Clarence Johnson, 56, wife of Clarence R. Johnson, owener-operator of Johnson's Restaurant in New Haven, died suddenly at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 20, of a heart attack, at her residence in New Haven. She had suffered a previous heart attack last fall, but her condition was not believed serious. The former Mary Finetta Hayden, daughter of the late Thomas (Joseph) Byron and Mary B. Mattingly Hayden, she was born and reared in the Samuels area of Nelson County. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Catherine Church, New Haven and of the church Altar Society. Her survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Jimmy (Mary Dean) Beyke, of Central City; Mrs. Bob (Rose Marie) Rusterholtz, Louisville; and Miss Karen Johnson, at home; six sons, Joe Hayden Johnson, Minneapolis, Minnesota; James P. (Phil) Johnson, Newburgh, Indiana; Kevin, of Bardstown; Clarence R. Johnson, Jr., New Haven; Jackie and Christ Johnson, at home; one brother, Joe Byron Hayden, Samuels; and 10 grandchildren. A con-celebrated Requiem Mass was offered at 10 a.m. Monday, January 24, at St. Catherine Church, New Haven, with Rev. Joseph Carrico, associate pastor, Rev. Irvin Mouser and Rev. Charles Rusterholtz, of Louisville, con-celebrants. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews, Paul, Mark, Mike and Pat Johnson, Jr., Danny and Byron Hayden. The body was at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home, Highway 52, New Haven, where a wake service was held at 7:30 Sunday evening.
