KENTUCKY STANDARD OBITUARY - 11/15/1973
MATTINGLY, 35, DIES AT COX'S CREEK AREA HOME
James Leon Mattingly, 35, died suddenly Monday evening, November 12, at his residence on Route 2, Cox's Creek. He was an employee of Wright & Lopez, Inc., construction firm. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roby Mattingly, Route 2, Cox's Creek; five sisters, Mrs. Adrian (Margaret) Spalding, Mrs. Walter (Geneva) Durbin, and Mrs. Wallace (Juanita) Durbin, all of Bardstown; Mrs. Paul (Linda) Heath, Boston and Mrs. Larry (Betty) Heath, of Shepherdsville; three brothers, Robert Mattingly, Samuels; Houston Mattingly, of Bardstown, and Donnie Mattingly, Route 2, Cox's Creek; and grandmother, Mrs. Katie Thurman, of Samuels. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, at St. Gregory Church, Samuels, with the pastor, the Rev. John Dickman, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at Mann, Greenwell and Arnold Funeral Home where a prayer service was conducted at 7:30 Wednesday evening.
