OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - October 30, 2009
Max Raymond Gaston, 76, of Urbana, died at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 9, 1933, in Urbana, to Russell and Lena (Herriman) Gaston. Max was a 1951 graduate of Urbana High
School. He married Orma Derck in Wabash, on April 4, 1952. He worked for Jack Cross Ford more than 30 years. Working on cars was Max's job but was also his hobby. He also enjoyed working in his yard and garden, and helping family. He was a US Army veteran.

He is survived by wife, Orma Gaston of Urbana; three sons, Max R. (Ginny) Gaston and Grimes B. Richard "Rick" Gaston, both of Wabash, Larry D. (Sherry) Gaston of Huntington; four grandchildren, Grimes Russell "Rusty" (Hope) Gaston, Jamie (Emily) Gaston, and Jessica Gaston all of Wabash, Matthew Russell (Rachel) Gaston of Fort Smith, Ark.; and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Fleck of Huntington; two brothers, David Gaston of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Arthur (Dora) Gaston of North Manchester. He was preceded in death by his brother John Gaston.

Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service on Monday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. with Doug Oakes officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 2-6pm Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorial is Wabash County Cancer Society.

Services for Max Raymond Gaston, 76, were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Doug Oakes officiating. Burial was in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. Trula Cramer was musician. Military Honors were performed by the Wabash VFW Post No.286. Max Reed was bugler and presented the flag. Pallbearers were Bob Kochenour, Jim Krom, Dale Norman, Herb Ringel, Herman Enyeart and Donald Bever. Honorary Pallbearers were Gene Hipskind, Jim Kisner, Bernard Dillard and Dan Hobbs.
