She was born on Dec. 18, 1930, at Osage City to James Thomas and Elnora May Goldsmith Parks.
She graduated from high school in Utica.
She married Walter Benjamin Woods on Jan. 2, 1952, at Plainview, Texas. Together they owned and operated Walter Woods Custom Combing for more than 35 years prior to Walter's death on Dec. 10, 1990. She has lived in Ulysses since 1954.
Mrs. Woods loved her family and enjoyed being with them. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses.
Survivors include one son, Wade Scott 'Pete' Woods of Ulysses; one daughter, Wilma Louise Handley of San Antonio; three brothers, Kenneth Wayne parks of Holyrood, James Leonard Parks of Ellsworth, and Charles Robert Parks of Topeka; two step daughters, Pat Crowe of Fort Worth, Texas, and Linda Edmonson of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren; four great granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Gordon Lee Woods; a sister, Henrietta Belle Holmes; and two brothers, Marvin Lee Parks and Eugene Warren 'Pat' Parks.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church, Ulysses, with Pastor Bill Harrold presiding.
Friends may sign the register from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Grant County Funeral Home, Ulysses.
