Mr. Lewis died on Monday, April 27, 2009, at his home. Son of the late Roy Alexander, Sr. and Jessie Caldwell Lewis, he was born on May 24, 1918, in Blackstock, SC. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retiree of Uniroyal where he worked for 40 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ridgeway Ward.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Evans Lewis of the home; one son, Al Lewis of Winnsboro; and two sisters, Jessie Lewis of Charleston and Lucy Abbott of Rock Hill. Mr. Lewis was predeceased by one daughter, Vickie Caroll Lewis; one brother, Frank C. Lewis; and two sisters, Sarah Arrington and Anna Laura Lewis.
