Charles Dale Coit, 82, of Basehor, Kan., passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, Kan. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Funeral Home.

Charles was born on Oct. 29, 1927, in Breckenridge, Mo., to Chester O. and Lela Rea (Mooney) Coit. He lived in Kansas City all his life. Charles was a member of Edwardsville Assembly Church. He was sole proprietor of Coit Trucking for over 50 years. He enjoyed watching all type of sports. In his younger years he played baseball.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 63 years; Helen Coit, three brothers, and two sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Howard (Joe) and Dayla Rosales (Joel) of Kansas City, Kan., and Charla Coit of Basehor; nine grandchildren, Shelly Doty, Charles Dale Coit II (Snapper), Lisa Garcia, Luis Gonzalez (Jr.), Erin Mahan, Gwendlyn (Wendy) Gonzalez, Pete Micheal Hilkemeyer, and Joel Rosales; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Beverly Gibler, along with several nieces and nephews.
