Charles Lamar Loveland, 92, of Wooster, OH., passed away Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, in Wooster. He was a former 60-year resident of Mayfield Heights. He was born March 5, 1917, in Thompson to Stanley and Hazel Loveland and was the fifth of 14 children.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater and married Mildred Buchwald. She survives.
Charles was a stock supervisor most recently at Snapout Forms in Chardon, retiring in 1979 and had been a lifetime farmer/gardener, feeding many from his garden. He was an avid bowler until his death.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 66 years are daughters, Marilyn (the Rev. Jerry) Wester of Cuyahoga Falls and Janet (Gordon) Miller of Wooster; grandchildren, Jeff (Jessica) Wester of Indian Head, MD., Sara Wester of Mogadore, David Wester of Cuyahoga Falls, Evan and Alisa Miller, both of Wooster; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Godwin of Mayfield Heights, Virginia Loveland of Chardon, and Evelyn Buchwald-Turner of San Antonio, TX; and brothers, Steven (Junetta) of Chardon and Richard (Jackie) of Thompson.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Mattson, Irene Snyder, Mildred Loveland and Joanna Calhoun-Maggio; and brothers, Ralph, Floyd, Mike and Homer.
Services will be today (Wednesday), Dec. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst. Entombment will be in Knollwood Cemetery, Mayfield Heights, OH.
