She was born in Baldwinville on August 25,1914, the daughter of the late William W. and Ethel T. (Burnham) Fales and had resided in Fitchburg for over 30 years until moving to Baldwinville a year ago. She had also previously lived in Winchendon and Gardner.
Mildred was a cook at the former Winchendon Hospital and Heywood Hospital in Gardner until her retirement. Many years ago she worked at the former Whitneys and Julia Robucks. She was an active member of the Assembly of God Churches in Fitchburg and Gardner for over 50 years. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, crafts and playing bingo.
Her husband, Aimo J. Aalto, died in 1998 and her first husband, Alfred W. Jones, died in 1959. She leaves two children, Stuart E. Jones and his wife Janet,of Stuart, Fl and Winchendon, and Dorothy A. Jones of Newport, NH; seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Raymond Fales, Roland Fales and Darwin Fales, predeceased her.
