Paul Wayne Harper of Spiro was born April 23, 1944, in Spiro to Everett and Emogean (Davis) Harper and passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in Fayetteville at the age of 65. He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Hampton and husband, Wayne of Puxico, Mo.; two sisters, Charlene Hull of Bakersfield, Calif., and Patricia Ritter of Oklahoma City; one brother, Leon Harper of Spiro; four nephews, Charles Wayne Hull, Justin Harper, Wesley Harper and Ryan Ritter; and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Everett Harper Jr. He loved to fish, loved his motorcycle and enjoyed the get-together with his Vietnam veteran friends each year. He received two Bronze Stars with Valor and one Bronze Star. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. O.M. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro. Family visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
