50th Wedding Anniversary, 20 May 1939, Loup City, Sherman Co., Nebraska.

Saturday, May 20, 1939 marked the golden Wedding Anniversary of Mr. & Mrs. David Seifert, the same day David became a catholic. They were prominent farmers living two miles west of Boelus. They had an Open House with over 100 guests coming to their home. Miss Anna Wotke and David Seifert were married at David City, Nebr. on May 20, 1889. Their attendants were Miss Julia Seifert and Robert Wotke. To this union were born eleven children. Two boys died 33 years ago within a short time of each other. Clara passed away in 1914 and another daughter Amanda passed away in 1933. Their other children are John and Jake, Minnie Young, Christina Hewitt all lived west of Boelus, Anna Schroll and Frieda Habe lived near Ravenna, and Bertha Schaefer lived in Lacona, Iowa. David and Anna lived the first three years of their married life on the Morgenson farm north of Boelus after which they moved to the Soulville vicinity. They lived in this home for 28 years then moved to the farm west of Boelus.

BOELUS LADY DIES FROM FIRE BURNS

Mrs. Anna Seifert, 87, died in a Loup City hospital Saturday night of burns she suffered in a gasoline fire at her home three miles west of Boelus that afternoon.
The gasoline which she was using to clean clothes ignited, covering her with flames and burning most of her clothing. Her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Young, heard her screams. With the help of a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edward Young, the fire was extinguished. Mrs. Seifert was rushed to the hospital at Loup City. Mrs. Seifert was born in Austria. Funeral services under the direction of Jacobson's Mortuary were held at St. Mary's Church, Rockville, Tuesday, with the Rev. Anthony Figlerski officiating.
