Mark B. Davis February 2, 2009 CAPE VINCENT, N.Y. — The funeral for Mark B. Davis will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Thousand Island High School auditorium with Rev. Mark L. Pierce, pastor of the Lake and River Parish of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in spring. Calling hours are noon to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cape Vincent United Methodist Church. Contributions may be made to the Mark Davis Memorial Fund, c/o Citizens Bank of Cape Vincent, PO Box 277, Cape Vincent, NY 13618. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Mr. Davis, 25, of S. James St., died early Saturday morning, Jan. 31, in the emergency room of the Samaritan Medical Center from fatal a gun shot wound he suffered while responding on an ambulance call in Cape Vincent. Born Jan. 15, 1984, in Orlando, Fla., a son of Marsha Davis, he was home schooled in New York State, receiving his diploma and attended Stetson University in Florida. Mr. Davis returned to the North Country and was currently attending classes at Jefferson Community College in the Paramedic program. While attending college, Mark worked for Guilfoyle and T.I.E.R.S. ambulance squads, of Watertown and Clayton. He was also a volunteer fireman and emergency medical technician for the Cape Vincent Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Davis was CPR instructor and was HazMat and Mass Casualty certified. He received national accreditation as a 911 dispatcher, was a member of the EMS club at JCC and a was a member of the French Festival committee. He is survived by his mother and father, Marsha and Laurence Dickinson, Cape Vincent; a brother, Michael Brandon Dickinson; a sister, Maricia Dickinson, both of Cape Vincent; maternal grandparents, Marshall and Leona Davis, Orlando, Fla.; aunts, uncles and cousins.
